چکیده

The renormalization constants present in the lattice evaluation of the topolog-ical susceptibility can be non-perturbatively calculated by using the so-called heating method. We test this method for the O(3) non-linear σ-model in two dimensions. We work in a regime where perturbative calculations are exact and useful to check the values obtained from the heating method. The result of the test is positive and it clarifies some features concerning the method. Our procedure also allows a rather accurate determination of the first pertur-bative coefficients.

Application of Homotopy Perturbation Method to One-dimensional Transient Single-phase EM Heating Model

Thermal recovery involves well-known processes such as steam injection (cyclic steam stimulation, steam drive, and steam-assisted gravity drainage), in situ combustion, and a more recent technique that consists of heating the reservoir with electrical energy. When high frequency is used for heating, it is called electromagnetic (EM) heating. The applications of EM heating for heavy-oil reservoi...

Dynamic response determination of viscoelastic annular plates using FSDT – perturbation approach

In this paper, the transient response of a viscoelastic annular plate which has time-dependent properties is determined mathematically under dynamic transverse load. The axisymmetric conditions are considered in the problem. The viscoelastic properties obey the standard linear solid model in shear and the bulk behavior in elastic. The equations of motion are extracted using Hamilton’s principle...

Nonlinear analysis of radially functionally graded hyperelastic cylindrical shells with axially-varying thickness and non-uniform pressure loads based on perturbation theory

In this study, nonlinear analysis for thick cylindrical pressure vessels with arbitrary variable thickness made of hyperelastic functionally graded material properties in nearly incompressible state and clamped boundary conditions under non-uniform pressure loading is presented. Thickness and pressure of the shell are considered in axial direction by arbitrary nonlinear profiles. The FG materia...

The theory of interaction between wave and basic flow ∗

This paper investigates the interaction between transient wave and non-stationary and non-conservative basic flow. An interaction equation is derived from the zonally symmetric and non-hydrostatic primitive equations in Cartesian coordinates by using the Momentum–Casimir method. In the derivation, it is assumed that the transient disturbances satisfy the linear perturbation equations and the ba...
